The concept aimed to emphasise director Neil Bartlett’s Wilde’s infamous novel. The production is one of contrasts – elegant yet twisted, dark yet alluring, high-class yet debauched. The idea that Dorian is above normal human and moral constraints led to a concept where there was no engagement with the viewer, but still retained an internal self-serving intent. This also helped to retain the mystery of who the new actor was who had been cast as Dorian Gray.
Final outcomes included 60×40 posters around Dublin and an alternative teaser poster displayed on the Abbey Theatre building.
