Developed by the National Gallery of Ireland and Russborough House the Apollo Project encourages young people (16 to 25) to connect and contribute to the world of art and heritage through events and programmes - offering genuine benefits that are relevant to their personal well-being, confidence, social skills, learning and creative development.

The insights and opinions of the primary audience were especially valuable to the brand identity process, and we collaborated with a group of young people throughout. The Apollo Project offers the Gallery a unique chance to expand perceptions and build lasting brand awareness with this young audience, and our collaborative, participatory approach benefitted the brand creation process, the programme and the Gallery itself.

The visual identity for the Apollo Project builds further value in the Gallery brand, transforming the ‘oblique’ of the corporate mark into a platform for expression, experimentation, personalization and creativity. The potential of art, the programme and young people themselves is expressed in the everchanging mark, supported by the tagline Art Makes You.

“ Thank you all so much for the incredible work you have put into the Apollo Project - we could not be more grateful and it is so exciting to be launching off with something we are so proud of and that so much work has gone into. ”

“ Thank you so much for all your patience and enthusiasm throughout the whole process. The strength of the design is testament to the integrity of the research and consultation process, and I’m delighted that young people have been involved in every stage… Apollo has edged it out for its humour, flexibility and connection with/subversion of the Gallery’s existing logo. We are all incredibly excited about the possibilities of Apollo and we can’t wait to work with you on it! ”
