Dublin UNESCO City of Literature Stamp (2013)

Designed by Garech Stone and Declan Stone at The Stone Twins

Copywriting: Eoin Moore

A stamp issued to honor the recognition of Dublin as “a UNESCO City of Literature” - an acknowledgement of Dublin’s astounding literary heritage and activity.

Avoiding the usual visual clichés (such as images or quotes from the giants of Irish literature), The Stone Twins literally made a stamp with a story. Words as image. They instigated a competition, in collaboration with Roddy Doyle's ‘Fighting Words’ creative writing centre, that invited young people to write a story. The winning entry by teenager Eoin Moore is reproduced on bright fluorescent yellow.
