Field Day Theatre Company was founded in Derry in 1980 by playwright Brian Friel and actor Stephen Rea. In 2012, after a long absence, Field Day presented two new plays in a double bill: ‘Farewell’, by Clare Dwyer Hogg, and ‘Half a Glass of Water’, by David Ireland, directed and performed by Stephen Rea. The cover features a painting by renowned Antrim artist Basil Blackshaw, who has been mage-maker to Field Day from the outset. The programme was designed to complement the artwork, with the addition of small flap 85x100mm to accommodate the cover text, with a colour palette of warm red, warm greys and slate blue.
