On-Site (2010)

For one month in May 2010, the Architectural Association’s imprint Bedford Press relocated its duplicator printing machine to the AA’s Front Members’ Room gallery space, continuing its usual design and production of printed matter – books, posters, invitations, edition prints etc – in an open and visible setting. Here, the act of publishing was realised in the true sense of the word i.e. to make public. Over the course of the month, printed matter was added to wall-mounted metal panels. A specially-commissioned mobile storage unit, designed by architect Jesko Fezer, contained supplies for the printer, with a second outer unit also acting as a display surface.
