The Currency is a new online publisher that delves deeper to deliver high quality business, public policy and economic stories. Working closely with its founders, Ian Kehoe and Tom Lyons, we designed a simple yet bold identity using a provocative colour palette to help it stand out and gain clout in a crowded digital market.
The Currency is far from conservative. With this in mind, we developed a visual style with a graphic device that is intentionally in your face, making people question what they see. This device mirrors the ethos of the brand, one without affiliations, free to tell it like it is.
Independent and free from influence, we developed and art directed a photographic style for the brand using black and white shots to reinforce its objective approach.
Strong photography together with confident, compelling copy was carried through the website, which we designed, enabling it to attract new investors, corporate subscribers and sponsorship partners. Everything from business cards to social media headers were designed and rolled out by us in time for the brand launch.
